Emergency School Closures

COVID-19 : School Closure & Re-Opening School Information

Parent Communication

Could we remind parents that it is VITAL that we have your up-to-date contact details, as our prime method of communication (should we have to close the school) is via TEXT MESSAGE. Please ensure that the office has your up-to-date MOBILE number. If in doubt,  please check.

Any decision to close the school would be followed up by messages on either our text messaging service, school website or our school twitter feed.

Finally, messages are then filtered through to our local radio stations.

  • BBC Warwickshire and Coventry 94.8FM, 103.7FM and 104FM
  • Free Radio Birmingham (previously known an BRMB) 96.4MHz FM.
  • BBC Radio WM 95.

School Closure Circumstances

With regard to school closure, a decision will only be made to close the school as a last resort and if any of the following apply:

  • Concerns about safety and the accessibility of the site and surrounding area.
  • Unavailability of heat, light, power and water.
  • Unavailability of staff.
  • Unavailability of meals.
  • Concerns for pupils and staff travelling safely to and from school.
  • We will always endeavour to let you know as soon as possible.

Please note unless circumstances are extreme we will avoid closing the school early. As with previous years if there is severe weather during the school day, we allow parents to collect children early. We leave this as a parental decision as everybody's circumstances are different.
