In 2010 St. Mary's Catholic Primary School proudly received the prestigious award -International School Award which was awarded by The British Council.
Our school was accredited with this award in recognition of its commitment to celebrating and developing the international dimension of the school's curriculum. In particular for our work with European partner schools, looking at environmental and cultural projects and, more recently, for our involvement with South African schools working on a joint project around the theme of peace and reconciliation.
St. Mary's has for many years been involved in the Comenius Programme which links pupils and teachers with schools across Europe.
Our last partnerships involved working with schools in Finland, Germany and Spain. Its aim was to bring education and culture together through work, school and play.
Our latest partnership has environmental and ecological themes linking St. Mary’s with schools in Turkey, Austria, Sweden and a new school in Menorca, Spain.
This is the title of our new partnership. So far, meetings have been held in Austria, Menorca and Turkey. UK schools, both St. Mary's and Ss. John & Monica will be hosting their meeting in February 2014. Minutes of meetings are recorded and agendas are agreed between the partnering schools.

Comenius Partnership - Visit to the UK from 11th to 14th February 2014
We warmly invite our European visitors, both teachers and pupils from Austria, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Moseley to the UK.
Our sister school Ss. John & Monica in Moseley will be looking after our guests on Tuesday and Wednesday and St. Mary's will be entertaining them on Thursday and Friday.
A visit to Tyseley Recycling Centre, Birmingham Art Gallery and new Library has been scheduled. Our visitors will be working in both schools on practical recycling activities and we will be undertaking a recycling workshop with WEAVE Recycling here in Studley.
Entertainment during the evenings includes a Birmingham curry night, a traditional fish'n'chip supper, a skittles evening and a special Valentines Night Disco.
We hope our visitors have a great time here in 'The Midlands'.
